Information We Process
Semera processes the chat messages you enter and up to 11 earlier messages in the active conversation. Messages may contain personal information if you choose to provide it.
For requests involving current information, including news, weather, sports scores, or recent events, Semera also processes the search question you enter.
We do not require an account, name, email address, or profile information to use Semera.
How We Use Information
We use chat content to generate AI tutoring responses, maintain relevant context within the active conversation, search the web when needed to answer current-information questions, and operate, secure, and improve the service.
Do not submit sensitive personal information, including health information, financial information, passwords, government-issued identification, precise location, or other highly sensitive data.
Third-Party AI and Search Services
Semera does not send your chat content to third-party AI or search services until you explicitly select "I agree and continue" in the app.
After consent, Semera sends your chat message and limited prior conversation context to Hugging Face through its inference router to generate an AI response.
When web search is needed, Semera sends your search question to Parallel AI to retrieve web-search results. Relevant web-search results may be included with the chat request sent to Hugging Face so Semera can provide a current, sourced answer.
These providers process information only to provide AI inference or search functionality for Semera. We require service providers to handle information with appropriate privacy and security protections. We do not sell chat content or use it for advertising.

Your Choices
You may decline consent. If you decline, Semera will not send your chat content to Hugging Face or Parallel AI, and AI chat will not be available.
You may withdraw consent at any time by selecting "Stop sharing with AI services" in Semera. With consent withdrawn, future chat requests will not be processed by these services.
Data Retention
Semera does not store chat messages in its application database. Third-party service providers may retain or process information as described in their own privacy policies and service terms.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
Children
Semera is designed as a study tool. If you are under the age required to provide consent in your jurisdiction, use Semera only with permission from a parent or guardian.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will publish the updated version on this page and revise the effective date.
